In a small zoo, neighbors from opposing social classes celebrate the arrival of Zafari, the hippopotamus. Ana, Edgar and their son Bruno observe everything from the window of their decaying upper-class building. Amid the shortage of food, water and electricity, ANA collects food in the abandoned apartments, while the family finds a way to escape. But strange sounds in the hallways frighten her more and more. In an increasingly savage world, Zafari is the only one who still has food.
